Most independents and all dealers can help with this. You can also search http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/good-mb-shops/ for local shops.

The typical problems are related to air entering at the o-ring seals of the following: fuel lines, pre-filter, shutoff valve or delivery valve seals.

Symptoms will be hard starts followed by leaking fuel as o-rings deteriorate further.

If you can see the leak or track down wetness it makes diagnosis much easier. All of the above items with exception of del valve seals are fairly simple DIY fixes. The del valve seals arent that bad but helps if the manifold comes off first and requires a torque wrench and special socket to pull the valves.

Where exactly are the delivery valve seals? I have a 95 E300D (W124) and am going to remove the inlet manifold to change all the fuel lines. Don't want to miss something whilst I have the mainfold off!

Barney55 - On top of the IP. The metal fuel injector lines attach to them and the opposite end attaches to the injector.

The seals are parts #11 & 17 on the diagram (your W124 pump). You may need a special MB splined socket to remove them. Is a little bit techicnal; read up on it if you havent done it before. Note all the lil pieces.....
