5 speed manual for W123 240D 300D

I was going to put this into my 240D but I'm selling the car and keeping the CD instead. I had it gone through at "Box & Gear". A shop here in L.A. New bearings, syncros checked out good (couldn't find new ones through the Dealer!). New seals etc. I was going to put this on Ebay but thought I would give you good folks on the forum the first look. I have about $1000 into it so I think I should be able to get that back at least. Hopefully more.........hint......hint.. Drop me a PM

Dang it, I'm always broke when stuff like this comes along.

That will sell in about one hour.

240D parts will work too, biggest hurdle is the shifter as rods can be fabricated. I believe a w201 shifter can be made to work. either way the trans is the only thing you definitely cant fabricate

That doesn't look anything like a Getrag. What car is it from? A 280SL?

Thank you for your posts. They reminded me that no matter how much I wanted a 5 speed 240D, I just don't have the time or energy to finish the job. I knew that I could cobble together the parts. (I have a 240 auto driveshaft). But somehow I would probably never get around to installing it in the near future. Oh yeah, it's cast iron heavy alright! And believe it or not it's still in L.A. sitting in the garage. Maybe because I was vague on the price. Does $1500 sound fair folks?
