360TE AMG wagon lives

After the minor fender-bender, the 1988 360TE AMG wagon is back with a face-lift.

1994-1995 W124 hood, black cladding, & grill (600SEL grill in the wings)
1995 W124 diesel right fender
W124 AMG fender spacer kit (ready for 17x8.25 wheels) and rolling of fenders and widening lip per AMG instructions from GSXR.
Re-sprayed front Brabus bumper
1994 E500 headlights
1994 E500 fender liners to reduce lift and accommdate the AMG fender spacers.

Also, the install of the electric-fan saved the engine since the bumper of a 4x4 didn't meet my bumper.
If the viscous fan was still installed, most likely serious damage to the C36 engine would have occurred.

Neil, That looks super sweet, I really like the Brabus bumper. What is the part number for the fender spacer kit?
The front end is really cleaned up now, the diesel fender is a great mod, especially for you. Glad the engine is ok.

Thanks for kind words!

Here's how she looked previously, and the "piece d'resistance" is the C36 engine, tranny, and limited-slip diff.

Mind if I ask what the purpose of the diesel fender is for?
Are you using that as your air intake?
Thanks

A new forced air intake is in the works, as well as planning for forced induction . . .

They wont even think its a 1987 300TD because those sucked air from inside the fender. LOL. THey are going to think its a 606 engine, man, actually they wont know what it is. But they will sure get a surprise with that M104 C36 motor. I think the extra cold side intake air will really help a lot.

To have the fewest amount of bends, I'll have to relocate the window-washer resevoir to make the cold-air intake effective.

Anyone have any ideas?

I tried the W124 diesel's resevoir and no space due to the bigger intake manifolds (than the diesel) of the M104/C36 engine.

Anyone have pictures of the engine bay of a E36 W124 from Europe?

Looks great Neil!

Where did you pick up the E500 headlights? I want some for my E420. Buying the AMG front spoiler next time PP has a sale. I also need a good body shop to paint the spoiler and the lower body parts. Any ideas? VIP? I have a set of Eibachs that have been sitting in my garage for 1 month now, ready to go on. I need to call Colin. Is it easy to do the change? There isn't any time to do all the things I want to do.

Craig

PS. Saw the 500E today. Still looks great.

Craig- got the Euro E500 lights from Paul at Puma (http://www.puma-access.com).

Sometimes it's cheaper to get the Euro 500E lights, and then purchase the Euro E500 lenses IF you upgrade the grill.

I haven't dealt with VIP. I did use Able at Diamond Finish Auto Body (http://www.diamondfinishautobody.com) and he did an excellent job at a fair price. I would contact him.

The springs are easy to do IF you have a spring compressor. Since I don't, just give Colin at Muller & Goss a call.

Why don't we have lunch today or sometime this week?

PS: Did you see the 275 rear tires on the 500E?

I didn't get a chance to see the rears on the 500. It was coming towards me and I thought, oh a 500, then after it passed I realized it was your car.

I'll give Colin a call. I can rent a spring compressor, but it's not the MB plate type. Might be easier to pay $100 to have them done. I think I might need to get the fenders rolled also.

I'll go by Diamond Auto Body.

Lunch sometime would be great. Not a good day today. I'm working downtown these days.

Craig
