Velcro will work but I think only in a moderate climate. I live in Tucson and used velcro and it worked all fall, winter and spring but when it hit 110 in the summer ( and hotter in the garage) the velcro stick-on glue just melted.

I eventually resorted to another fix for floppy visors, significantly more permanent though not without its own potential unintended consequences: Replaced the 560SL with an SL500. Wish me luck on the top cylinders!

Just to reinforce, the leather-shim-to-give-more-resistance fix isn't nearly as hard as it might seem, and it worked fine for the 6 years I had the 107 after doing it.

Mine weren't even that saggy, but I hated how I kept bumping my big forehead on them all the time. My solution was to remove them. If the sun is in my eyes...I squint.
