lowering springs for 107

I am installing a 617 turbo Diesel in my 79 450SLC and the front end is sprung since it lost so much weight. Does know of any lowering springs that I can install? I would hate to torch the springs and loose the great ride that this car had.

The 617 engine & accessories are only 80lbs less than the M117 engine you removed.

WHAT thickness spring pads are now in the front.

You could go to 380SL springs as that engine was almost 100lbs lighter than the 450SL.

I'd just torch them.

Check your 107 manual. There were 7 front and 11 rear, springs available with different heights, loads etc.

SPAX UK, spax.co.uk, make 3 different sizes of lowering springs for the different 107 models. Get the number you need from their catalogue then call James or Eddie at JPR Performance (1-443-557-0086) and they will order them for you. Heard bad things about their shocks, so we passed on them but the springs are high quality. Also progressive rate and slightly stiffer.
