Interior lights - short in the driver's door switch (86 560SL)

Anyone know how to remove the 'push button' switch mounted on the door frame that triggers the interior lights on when you open the door? It looks like it is riveted in...? Does that mean I am going to have to drill it out? And if so, how do I reinstall? I have a short there somewhere - if I wiggle that button some I can get the lights to come on...

The whole switch just pries out of the door jamb.
The rivets you see are holding the switch casing together. I drilled them out (after removing the switch) and cleaned the contacts inside, then reassembled the casing with #6 sheet metal screws. Worked fine, and saved the $25 for a new one.
