Fender Shipment - Go Greyhound
I just got in an RH 107 fender with a few minor dents but no rust, OEM, for $115 to my door, which I thought was a deal. My RH 380SL fender has rust under the bumper mount, and on the lower ribbed part behind the wheel opening. This latter rust was caused by a poor repair in the car's past with a faulty seal between the inner and outer fenders. It was shipped Greyhound, for only $65 from Wichita to Lexintgton KY. The shipped used an interesting mildly adhesive bubble wrap and then shrink wrap. It came through with flying colors, no problem, and incredibly, fit in a PT Cruiser.
You would be very surprised to find out how little these actually weigh. The shipper told me that a trick he had learned was to NEVER ship stuff like this in cardboard because then people THINK they can stack stuff on top. Wrapped like this in bubble/shrink wrap, it always winds up as "top freight", even if it's heavy! Anyway, if you have this option, I'd advise taking a look at Greyhound package express for big stuff. I'm still debating on replacing the entire fender or cutting up the replacement and learning how to weld in pieces.

I shipped a delorean left front fender(extremely rare part and very expensive) via fedex without an issue for $120.. But it was insured for $3000 and in a box the size of a twin bed with a ton of peanuts and bubble wrap with top freight stickers everywhere.

If you have a whole good fender don't bother with trying to weld!
