Color? Aroma? Oily?

How are your shocks? How are your brakes?

See if it is colorless/odorless, as it could jsut be water draining out, if the car has been rained on or washed recently.
I think the fuel pump is on the other side, but not sure, if i am wrong, then it could be a fuel leak.
Only other thought would be a brake fluid leak, does the brake pedal feel normal?

The fluid is clear but very thin and drips from the plastic cover that is under the car.The fluid has a slight oily smell. The brakes and shocks are fine. Thanks for the input

From this description, it makes me think that the leak may be from the hydraulic cylinder nearby to the location of the dripping fluid. An easy check is to look at the level of fluid in the system at the pump in the trunk to see if it's at the full mark, and/or, with someone watching the point of leak, put the top up and down a couple times. If the leaking speeds up, then it's the cylinders.

I'm not an expert, but based on the location and the small amount of oily fluid.......I'd say that's the only plausible explanation. My understanding is if a cylinder goes out, the top won't work at all

It's a leaking hydraulic cylinder(s). Be prepared to rebuild all 12 unless they were recently done. Dennis Ficken is the rebuild guru. And yes the top will work for awhile with a leak. Once the seal blows completely or the fluid level drops beyond minimum in the pump, no dice.

If as most of us think, that it's the cylinder seal that's causing the leak, I agree with Lee that Dennis is a terrific resource when it comes to these seals. He rebuilds them better than new, warrants for 3yrs, turns them around within a day or two after receipt, all for 1/3 of what the Dealers charge. Here's his contact info...
