BenzWorld Posting That stinks, because I had already replaced that with a metal part from a parts car. So, not only did the dealer repeat my own work, I now have to check the other end! Regardless, I think it is important for people to know about all campaings where they can get work done on these old cars. So, this linkage rod we're talking about. Does it have an adjustable section, or are you talking about adjusting the linkage it connects to? This is in relation to holding the gear to higher RPM after kickdown is engaged. Thanks!

My offer still stands on my other bushing Rodd.
I jacked my car up the other day, I didn't have time to take it apart. My bushing is actually still there, its very cracked and there is some play, but it hasn't fallen out. I didn't have time to try to replace it. I will mess with it another day. I also need to see if my linkage on the throttle end is good. I wonder if Mercedes will just give me the part, they've started to brine here and I took my convertibles off insurance for the season.

I have to correct previous information. I wrongfully thought the control rod on the D-Jet and K-Jet would be the same. I checked the EPC and they are not. There is no bushing shown where the rod connects to the control pressure lever on the K-Jet. The connection to the control linkage is also different. The upper connection on the D-Jet rod is adjustable so I would check that connection on the K-Jet.
Paul. Yours is different and did not suffer the failure so no need to worry. |

question about shifting
I have the same problem as some of you, my 450sl does the upshifting at 3000rpm when kickdown is activated. The connectionrod is adjusted and plastic rings are new. When i make the connection rod longer it will have no effect on upshiftingtime.
Best regards from The Netherlands |

Hi guys
I can confirm that there is indeed a plastic bushing in place down at the transmission end of the control pressure rod of my 450 SEL 6.9, which has the K Jet system. I found it to be completely worn out, with the result that the rod itself had a lot of slop in it. In the process of replacing it now, part# for the bushing is 1102770550. I believe this will make the adjustment of the rod itself, and the resultant movement in relation to the throttle much more precise. Cheers Daniel |
