129 electric seats gone mad
We've had heavy rain here for the last few days. I was stuck in traffic this morning when I noticed the passenger seat (electric with memory) starting to move. The seat back is moving to the vertical position and will not return. Any attempt to recline it via switch or memory fails, as soon as I release the switch it returns to upright, followed by a series of about six clicks. Any ideas?

This is getting serious. Need help fast.
Forget the "six clicks". As soon as I open either door, without even having the key in the ignition, the seat is clicking away. This is going to be a serious problem. I'm sure it's water related.. Even put the hardtop back on because more heavy rain coming. Car is outdoors all the time. Everyday driver. Need help please.. In the short term, which fuse do I pull???

Pull fuse "E" at the firewall fuse box to disable the backrest.
You can diagnose your problem easily. You will need a multimeter and must remove the lower seat cushion (easy to do). If you wish to proceed this way on your own, email me. |

Parked in the sun for a few hours with the hardtop on and the windows open. Problem solved. Obviously was moisture related.
