Anyone know where I can get these FI fittings? (pics) In a SERIOUS jam!!
I have a Euro 1981 280 Fuel Distributor (that I am putting into an american 280) and I need the fittings that connect the fuel lines to the top if the distributor. I ordered them from the dealer and got the one pictured in the top pic. I need the kind shown in the BOTTOM pic.
Measurements: Nut is a 12mm. Total length is 22mm. Thread spacing is 1.0. Both ends are the same . (see pics) Both ends are flared female (to fit the bubble flare on the end of the fuel line). Can anybody help me out?!?!?! I need all six and I haven't been able to get any help from the dealer or find anything similar for automotive fittings anywhere ! Thanks!! -Matt- Images can be seen: http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/mercedes-benz-used-parts-sale-wanted/100333-anyone-know-where-i-can-get-these-fi-fittings-pics-serious-jam.html#post682713 (they won't let me post the pics on two threads...)

Your best bet is to try Earls or Aeroquip and see if they have a fitting that will work, they have some incredible fittings that you will be surprised.
10mmx1.0 is a very common pitch, lots of Japanese cars maufacturers use this. You problem is that you need a flare on the base of each end..... Other than that, try any local hydraulic repair shop....or you can have a new one made at any machine shop. I do alot of custom automotive work and end getting alot of my custom fittings that cannot be sourced, just made. Not sure if that helps you or not. Yasin |

If you look at the picture I include, to item # 712. In one group of engines it is used 9 times which to me suggests it is also at the base of the injector lines which have a fitting shown but no ID.
The part number is 000 074 35 86. Is that the number you got from MB?

Steve:
I didn't get the part # from MB. My parts guy at the dealer knew exactly what I was talking about, found them in a heartbeat and had them shipped.... Of course they were the wrong ones, but they did fit the broken american FD that I started w/, which is why I think it is a euro thing..

The picture above is from european parts information. If you got wrong fittings from MB they should of had a number. If not order one of the number above and see if it works. They will be right for a number of engines.
