Tony,
You can use part of it. I just went through all this on a 300SEL and a 300E. I didn't want to spend the money on the M103 tool so I found that by using the handle from my M110 tool and the screw on part from my M130 tool, it worked quite well. There are a couple of snags. You need a fulcrum to hook the hook on. I used one of the rocker assys from a junk motor. You just knock off the rockers and bolt it in place of the ones you remove to get to the spring. Also it is near impossible to get to #6 with this setup so I used the universal compressor that you buy in any well stocked tool store. This tool is a PITA and slow, but it is the only way I could get to #6. You also must be careful that this tool doesn't interfere with the new seal on installation. Good luck,

Peter
