560 SEL seat back stuck in full recline

My 9 yr old son decided to go to sleep and reclined the passenger seat all the way flat and now is stuck there. It tries to come up on the outer side but starts to twist, so it looks like the inner gear is not catching. I removed the seat and want to know if there is an easy way to rotate the inner side gear assembly towards upright manually? Thanks to all.

here is what I had to do, with the rear seat cushion removed, close both doors (you have to be inside), the try using the switch to return the seat. You will probably have to help the stuck side a little. Once moving, a couple of cycles of the adjustment has everything in place. I can't remember now if I had to remove the driveshaft to the other side or not, but something to look closely at.

Thanks for responding Mike. I have the seat out and sitting in my garage. When in the vehicle, only the outer side of the backrest would move electrically and started to twist the seat back so it appears that the inner side gear is not catching. Is there a way to turn the gear on one side in order to catch up with the other side, without disassembling the whole seat?
