W140 questions

Dear all,
FInally got my 97 S500 with 58k miles. Here are some questions i hope you guys can help me

1) The car take about 3-5sec to start, both cold and hot. The light is dimmed when starting the car, is it the battery problem or something else? (It takes abuot 4-5 turns (i dont know if i said it correct, that mean u can hear the "wo~wo" sound when starting the engine), the first turn seems draw lots of juice from the battery.

2) Does these cars has rain sensor? I saw there is a big plastic behind the rear view mirror, the sales said it is a rain sensor but i didnt see how to turn it on or off.

3) The mirrir has the auto dimmed, does anyone know how to turn it on or off? or it works automatically?

4) The car has parking sensor, and i cannot find any rear lights except for the reading lights, there is a switch in the front (next to the sunroof switch) which said to turn on and off for the rear light, but when i turn it on, nothing happen)

5) There are dried water spots on the glass sunroof and both mirrors, how can i clear them up? i use those windows cleaner but cannot do the job.

6) How much are the keys? i am wondering if I can make a spare key outside (without remote) to start the engine? or it has those computer chips inside the remote or the key? I checked with the dealer and they quote $350 for each key, which killing me!

1) It's normal that the lights dim when you engage the starter. 3-5 seconds seems long. My SDL starts within a second or two of cranking. My S420 is in the 3-5 seconds range. It seems long to me. I've never bothered to do anything about it. Maybe changing the plugs and wires (wires don't apply to your car) will allow quicker starts.

3) There's no switch. Get in front of a truck at night and there should be less glare than you'd expect from a plain mirror. Maybe a blueish tint too.

4) The Parktronic sensors are in the rear bumper. I don't think there's a switch to turn the feature on and off. The rear cabin lights have nothing to do with Parktronic.

5) Try the detailing forum for tips on removing water spots.
