Check Engine Light Not Working?
Hy to everybody,
I have a CLK 430 1999 and you guys helped me to fix some little problem.....thanks a lot. Now i have a question, even if i can check my error code with my scanner and delete them my CHECK engine light NEVER come on even if i have a problem like MAF or a misfiring.........i tried to disconnect one coil for lig, start the engine and.........nothing.....even if i can see the code and after delete this. I am afraid that in case of i will have some minor problem i will not see this.... may be the previous owner did somethingh with the dealer for disconnect this function? Many thanks guys. Alberto |

Key on, engine off, all the lights should be on. Does the light work then?

I'd have to look at a wiring diagram, but I would check the fuses and verify alternator function. In older clusters the lights ground through the voltage regulator. Not sure on your car.
