Unhappy Overhead light flashes at a steady rate when running. 300SEL is haunted..

It's always something. I've been battling a problem with this otherwise beautiful car. Sometimes it cuts off while driving down the road. Sometimes it won't start at all. When it does run, it runs perfectly..

Got in the car to drive it today, and the seat belt light overhead would not stop flashing. After several minutes the overhead light started flashing too.

It seems to flash a code. Flash-flash-pause flash-flash-pause.. When I put the car in reverse or drive , it flashes at a different rate . Flash-long pause-flash-long pause.. It flashes at a perfectly timed steady rate. I can turn the light off with the switch, but the seat belt indicator doesn't seen to ever go out. All of the door switches seem to work, because if you open a door, the light comes on full time, and once you close the door, it goes back to flashing. Works that way with all 4 doors.

Anyone have any thoughts on this weird occuurence??? I'm to the point where I just want the car to go away..

Thanks for any input.
Jay

Turned out to be.......

Fuse # 15.. Works the seat belt arms, antenna, rear interior lights, and several other things. Replaced it, and problem went away..
