Question 94 E500 CEL code 10 help

Hi, I am new to this forum having bought a 94 E500 just recently. I am glad I found this forum about two years ago when I got interested on the E500's. I have found a load of information about these cars just by reading thru the threads. My question is in regards to the CEL which came on a few days ago. I used the pushbutton inside the engine compartment and got a code 10 (MAF high/low voltage). To verify, I took the car to an independent MB shop and the tech got the same using his diagnostic equipment. He concluded that the problem is one of two things: engine harness or the MAF itself. I informed him that according to the VMI, the car got a new engine harness installed under warranty at 43k miles, and a MAF at 68k. The car currently has 75k miles. The tech inspected the harness and told me that it is in good condition and that most likely the problem is caused by the MAF. Would a MAF go bad within 7k miles though? It was replaced in 2000 (68k then) but the car sat most of the time from 2000 until I bought it less than a month ago. Are there any checks I can do to check the condition of the MAF? The car would idle with a very slight miss sometimes but most of the time it purrs just smoothly the way it should. What do you guys recommend? Replace the MAF? Any good sources for this part? Thank you in advance.
