I bought a 1985 190e from a guy with a hole in the block. I replaced the motor and now it cuts out under heavy throttle. It did this with the old motor also. I tried a new coil and overload relay but still have the same problem. Any suggestions.
Also, I have a 1988 190e that was wrecked and I removed the motor to get the bodywork done. When I repladed the motor it would only start when I primed it and runs with the rpms held at around 3000 and up. I can't find an air leak which i assumed it is. I checked all the hoses and boots, but can't find any leaks. Any suggestions. thanks dragan |

Regarding your 85 190e.
Did you check the fuel pump and filter? I had a similar problem on a 84 190e. The fuel pump was shot and the filter full of rust powder from the fuel tank. changeng both solved the problem. Do you have any exhaust leaks or could the pre- or center catalyst be plugged up or something? good luck!!! Felix |
