Start up proceedings
My question for the experts is this. On a 1990 - 1993 300D, 2.5 turbo car with the 602 Diesel engine, After you turn on the key and the GP light goes out and you start the engine, explain to me what all goes on with this until it reaches operating temp of say abt. 80 C. What componant is doing what during this warm up process? GP timing to help warm up, other controls at work????
Tanks, MB of course. ![]()

Some later 603's have the GP run for a bit (no more than 60 seconds) after the starter is operated, don't know about the 602.
Basically, the engine runs exactly as it does at temp except that boost may be limited (these have electronic boost control). Other than that, normal operation. Peter
