fuel pump pressure too weak, what part is bad ??? 190E 2.3
I can now drive my 88 190 with my rebuilt engine, it won't stall or anything, but now the fuel pump seems to be too weak.
with the engine running, when I loosen any of the 4 12mm bolts on top of the fuel distributor that have the fuel lines towards the injectors, the fuel is too weak to come out and I can even remove the line and the fuel wont have enough pressure to run, this causes the car to be weak too but it won't stall.
so the mechanic says to change the fuel pump because he says that it's weak,
last weekend I removed the fuel pump and installed a used one that I had as an extra, replaced it and the car feels much better but still the pressure is not good as I can see when I loosen any of those bolts. the fuel is supposed to be sprayed out when I loosen the bolts, I think.
I think that something else may cause the pump pressure to be weak, maybre the fuel pressure regulator, to the left side of the airflow meter, or maybe fuel pump relay ??? an electrical gremlin???? any suggestions ???????
