1983 380 sl vac schemmatic?

High idle appears to be related to a vac leak. Took the air filter housing off and below I found some loose and brittle vac tubing.
Problem is that as I tried to repair the bad tube sections they broke off and now I don't know exactly how they go back. I should have known better

Does anyone have a schem pic that they can post or send me via emai? I have a few small tubing sections near the distributor vac line that are in question.

Who sells vac tubing. Pep boys or others like that?

Check this link and see if it will help you. I am not familiar with your model. What are the specifics?

http://skinnerbox.steaky.org/Service/Library.html

I have the ones I need on CD but this site (forum supplied) seems to be much more extensive.

Good luck and educate me as to what the 380 is.

Thanks BrierS for the post, looks like a Great place, the 107 model section is not available.

I have a 107 model with a 116 engine or a 380 sl 1983.
If you have access to the CD manuals. Thanks

Sorry, but I have the W124 CDs and the W123 ones on their way. This is just a shot in the dark, yet the location of what you describe may be the same as mine. If you do a search using BrierS there will be a thread where there are instructions on how to eliminate some vac lines and the devices they are connected to. Photos are attached so you will be able to identify if yours is/are the same. If so, I removed these lines with no negative impact.

I hope one of the more (most of the forum) experienced members picks up on this simple problem. They would be able to lead you to the solutions much better.

There's usually a sticker under the hood with the vacuum diagram. Usually over the right headlight.

The Chilton manual for 74-84 MBs has the diagram on page 4-31. There might be a copy of this book at the library, the auto parts store or a larger bookstore.

Going to need a manual sooner (now) rather than later. Minor cost when weighed against frustration. Mine arrived for my newest purchase and I'm still waiting for the vehicle to be delivered. Good reading.

107-cd

I have a 107-CD floating around and when I find it, if you pay the postage and CD copying costs, you are more than welcome to a copy...I have a 1980-380-SLC sitting here and I could send you some pictures but I have already found a couple of open ended vacuum lines and a half dozen open ended wires. This car is a EURO model and has washer nozzles on top of the bumper and a wiper motor right behind the passenger side head light mounted to the inner fender well. I wonder how many of this model their are here in the states...If you need any pictures I can take and send you some of specific areas...Jim
