The "easy" answer is:Just push in on the keyhole "button" on the trunk (the metal and black button with the small key slot). If the button seems like nothing is working, then the trunk is "locked out" of the central locking system, meaning when you are unlocking the doors, the trunk is "programmed" to stay locked, this is a feature of the car. You need to get it unlocked by using the key in the lock cylinder for the trunk (the same one you are pushing in on to open it). I think you put the key in, and turn it counterclockwise as far as it goes, then back to the middle position, then try pushing in on it. I could be wrong though, try it the other way too if the first way doesn't work. I assume another MB sale without an owners manual? You need to buy one, they're pretty cheap. MB sells them or they're on ebay alot too. Probably set ya back 10 or 20 bucks, but worth it.
There's a vinyl "screen" in the trunk, like a cover, make sure that thing is hooked up (slid back and placed on the 2 hooks) or the top will NOT operate!!!
Safety feature to make sure there isn't something that will break the rear window when you lower the top.
