who sells Depo brand headlights in the US?
Seems like folks buy them locally. Who sells them?
Thanks, Sixto 95 S420 87 300SDL |

There was this shop in Hayward (shoot, I forgot the name) which was installing some TYC replacement headlights on a Toyota Previa. I asked the guy if he can order TYC lights for any car, and he said it is doable, even for non-US cars.

Those are nice kits at katmac.
Is it possible to go with the Euro W124 and W126 assemblies but retain the stock amber corner lens? The reason I'd want to stay stock on the corners is because in Virginia the local parasite authorities would feed on me with clear corners. ![]() Ken300D

Ken,
No problem keeping the amber corners. The headlight assembly and corner reflector assembly are different pieces. Something you might want to consider that would be a nice compromise is to install the corners out of a '94 or '95 W124. They are clear in front but have a amber reflector strip at the rear. Easiest way to see what they look like is to view the cars on eBay. This is the way I'm went. I didn't really like the look of all clear. Looks too sterile to me. The amber reflecting strip breaks up the monotone clear look. Since they are oem on the '94 and '95, the local police can't say anything. |

I can't find anything at Katmac that verifies they are selling DEPO and not TYC. For my part I don't want TYC.
Is there some characteristic (like vacuum control or city lights) that pretty much insures these are DEPO brand? Ken300D

I emailed John Corrigan (john@katmac.com), the seller and he replied that they are indeed DEPO.

www.importVision.com does indeed sell the DEPO's. They are in California, closer to LA I think. Talk to Ken, he'll set you up.

JoeR-
I'm interested in the katmac kit too, did he get you a pic of the boxes or anything to verify they're Depo not TYC? I'm kinda wary of what sellers will say 'yes' to just to get you to buy some... btw, anyone know any sellers on the east coast that sell Depo?

I ended up getting the Katmac kit, they were Depo lights and they worked (and are still working) excellently. The main bulbs that came with were too-high wattage to use tho, so I bought some standard sylvanias. The connectors and blank panels were aftermarket, tho quality seems fine. The Depo clear side markers were not up to the headlight standard of finish so I kept my old amber ones. ('real' euro cars of this year have this set up anyway so I thought I'd keep it 'authentic)
![]() All-in-all I'd buy the Depos again seperately, and get the connectors and blank panels at the dealership. I think Katmac sells TYC now, which I heard were not quite up to Depo. Can't say for sure, could be exactly the same for all I know... I do know it's the best upgrade I've done to my car, safety and looks-wise. When I see it next to another 124 with DOT lights, it looks loads better and years younger... ![]()
