SL500 oil change
I have a new 2000 SL500. The top of the oil filter canister appears to have a torque wrench setting on it, but also appears to be something which is removed with a normal oil filter wrench. Do I really need some sort of combination torque wrench and oil filter removal tool attached to change the oil or can I just use a normal oil filter wrench and tighten it a quarter turn past hand tight or so and make sure oil doesn't leak ?

It really depends on where the filter cap is located. On my pops, S600, its located under the drivers side air intake box and a standard oil wrench didnt work. Best bet would be to bend over and pay the $30 for the tool at the dealer, it will still pay off in the end...
