The 500SEL interior rear view mirror just isn't working right.

The motion could be improved, but the real issue is that the headlights are showing bright as day - that is there is zero dimming at night.

Considered replacing the mirror - but at $1,000 a pop - I'm reconsidering.

Question: Is there a manual mirror that I could use in the 140 chassis that would give me the dimming.

Althought I appreciate the automatic dimming feature, and I appreciate the automatic repositioning when the seat is adjusted - great features.

But - I just need a simple mirror that will dim - my consern are the attatchment bolts.

Is there another mirror with the same bolt pattern?
