Does anyone have the oil extractor being sold by Griot's. It is similar to the Topsider but it is clear, tall and can hold 6.5 quarts. Cost is $65. Like to have your opinion if you use one. Here is the site.

I have not used the Griot product but, it only holds 6.5 Liters of fluid which is 6.87 quarts. Most Mercedes hold 8+ quarts of oil.
My Topsider holds nearly 9 quarts so I can change all of the oil at once. Then I just cap the Topsider and take it to my oil recycler.

Yes, I have a Griot Topsider. I am very happy with it--has high build quality and strong suction. The price is a little high, though, now that I have seen what others companies are offering. I recommend some brand of oil extractor for the DIY who does not have a lift/pit, despite all the debate about how thoroughly it removes the oil sludge. Cheers, Andrew Seidel.

I could not get the Topsider in Canada, therefore got the Pela oil pump which looks exactly the same as the Griot's oil pump from a local marine supply store. It has worked well for my 300E 2.6 which only holds 6 litres of oil.Plus since its transparent and in a graduated cylinder, you can see exactly how much has been sucked out.I dont think you can see right away how much has been sucked out with the Topsider till you measure it.
