seat swap question

I have a 1989 190 with power seats but the motor on the driver side is broken .
I found seats out of a 1993 300 at a salvage yard for really cheap and I am wondering if the frame is the same size.I measured it and it apears to be the same size and bolt pattern but I'm wondering if any one knows for sure if its the same or not.For the price its worth buying the set for the parts if they are the same.
Thanks

I don't think they'll fit. Just by looking at the seats, the 300 seats are wider. I think they're taller too -- which would be a major headroom problem. I also have a 190E, but mine has manual seats (Which by the way, can't suck enough! I LOVE the car, but HATE the seat controls. They cannot be adjusted properly for my 6' 2" frame.) I've been searching for power seats to swap in, but they're kind of hard to come by. If I were you, I'd plan on swapping just the motor. I'd bet my house that all the seat motors are exactly the same for 190, 300, 400, 500/E & C class cars.

Good luck, and post back with what you discover.

I measured them and the seats are a little wider but the bolt pattern on the bottom frame appears to be the same and that is all I need is the frame with the motors.Any info would be greatly apperciated....Thanks

I see what you're saying (sorry, didn't quite get it the first time.)

I have no further insight to offer. But I would be EXTREMELY interested in what you find out.

If you go forward with the swap, please post back with the results.
