94 e320 Rear Rotors

I need the "desperate measures" to remove my rotors that are warped and eating up my pads.

I've soaked the hub with PB Blaster, removed the allen headed set screw and turned the adjusting wheel (through the lug bolt holes) for the parking brake shoes and severely banged on the rotor face and sides with a steel hammer, but the rotor won't release.

All suggestions are appreciated.

Bob

Lots of threads related to this subject. I would say the consensus is to carry on with what you are doing, except perhaps you can try the heat step. Heat the disk up for 10 - 15 minutes with your propane torch.

When you use the PB Blaster make sure you try to get it in behind the rotor, thru the lug bolt holes, etc. Otherwise, use the biggest BFH you have and hit the rotor, rotate the rotor 180 degrees and hit it in the same spot. It will come loose sooner or later.

put a little anti-seize on the mating surface of the new set when you install them

Now why didn't I think of that!

Thanks, Bob

Isn't there a puller for those?

hit the rotor with a heavt hammer, hit th hub part of it, That should free it up, 2 or 3 wacks, should get it off

As Chris said, the BFH is the key. A 8-pound sledge hammer will make short work of it.

Hope you did not overlook the obvious >

but since I did I figure it might happen to anyone. Did you remember to release the parking brake?
