I just bought a '92 190E 2.3. I love it but I don't think the climate control system is working right. If I press the "O" button the air system turns off as it should. But if I press any other button the following happens. Hot air comes out of the defrost vents, hot air comes out of the two vents on the sides of the dash, COLD air comes out of the middle vents on the dash, and at no time does air come out of the floor vents. I'm thinking two things; electrical, or some physical blockage-what-have-you.

Here's to hoping some one has had the same problem and knows the magic wand solution.

You will not ever get warm air out of the center vents. They are for cold air only. If there is a problem, it could be a vacuum leak in the lines under the hood. Have a look/

I've been testing again and it turns out the same situation is occuring no matter which button is pushed even the "O" button and the temp selector at any setting. Heat from the defrost vents, heat from the side dash vents and never any air from the floor vents. My feet got COLD today on my way up to Boston even though I couldn't get the scorching dry 500 degree air to stop blowing into my eyes from the defrost vents.

I agree that it could be a vacume problem. All I need now it to find the location of all the inner workings. Or at least the best place to access them from.

Thanks for you past posting!!! And so fast too.
