107 bonnet release not working - urgent

I have 1977 350 SLC here in Russia. It was in a garage for the winter but the owner has sold the garage so she is outside in the open. The weather is set to fall again within the next two days.
Problem I pulled the hood release lever to replace the battery so as to move her to the new garage. However the lever seems to work OK but it is not releasing the catch at the front. I have tried to get a needle tip pliers to grip the cable at the release lever, but there is not enough to grip on.

what is a possible solution ????

Please.

I need to get her back inside as soon as possible.

Regards

hood latch

You may want to try to push down hard on the hood and than try the hood release again to see if it opens
