The ABS light started to come on regularly and when it did, the cruise control would also not work. Recently, I noticed that applying the brakes seemed to trigger this problem. I did a search and found a prior post from Steve Wengel (400E) indicating he solved the problem by replacing the brake lamp switch. This part is also called a stop lamp switch and costs under $20.00. Following the repair CD instructions, I had to remove the cover and leg bolster under the steering wheel to get at the switch. The actual switch replacement is relatively easy once all of the coverings are removed. It has been about 5 days and the ABS light has not come on. I couldn't believe such an inexpensive part could fix such a major problem. Thanks Steve!
