noisy valvetrain, 97 S500

97 S500,

Quite audible light clicking/tapping, sounds as if it is coming right off the left side cam area. I have plenty of experience with M117 and M116 engines but have never ventured under the valvecovers on this engine, not sure what the designation is, a 5 liter V8 is what I call it. I have heard there are plastic parts that go south, much like the cam oilers on the 116 and 117 engines maybe.... The car only has 55K on it and the valves are self adjusting so maybe lack of oil is causing this? Am I on to anything here?

Thanks!

Thanks ya'll for nothing. Think I've found the fix for my noisy lifters right here.
