How to fix a W140 seat belt extender. . .

. . . and fix it cheaply!

About a month ago, the seat belt extender 'busted' and I've just fixed it yesterday. It came out so good, that I posted the "how-to" on my web page. Check out MENU #25. If you have a broken one, check it out. I was pleased, so will you!

I dunno Jim,

It appears that there are not a whole hell of a lot of them there hardtop S series (not sure what they are really called) coupes out there, thus the lack of response.

I can tell ya one thing though, you really saved my ass with the tips on your webpage on diagnosing valve/lifter noise on the 5 liter V8 in my S500 (once again, not real good with factory designations here again). I replaced all of the plastic crap oiler tubes and no more clatter, really do appreciate ya buddy!!

Tnx for answering . . .

These older MBs must be pretty reliable after all . . . You're correct that there isn't as many coupes as sedans; people just don't like them. If I recall correctly, the USA sales for '94 'S' coupes vs '94 'S' sedans was 1 to 7.

But the gears are almost the same for the W124 coupes also. Unfortunately there's not a lot of them either.

Glad that you were able to replace those 'crappy' oil tubes. I certainly agree about the 'crappy' part.
