2001 C240 Dipstick
Yes, I know it doesn't have one.
At the back of the engine, passenger side there is something that roughly resembles what one might use to check the level of automatic transmission fluid (this car's a 6-speed). I can't quite read what is on the fitting. It is at the extreme back of the engine, right near the firewall. Can someone tell me what it is? Is this where the optional and seemingly not needed dipstick might go?? Thanks Much. |

MB offers a universal dipstick that can be used in the "test" port for oil level. IT isn't cheap & is way too long to remain there.
MB part number 120-589-06-21-00 about $150. You can get the same from www.asttool.com for $75. their number is M 0721.
