Alternatives to NLA fuel level sender?
Hi all.
Anyone have specs for various older fuel tank sending units? Length (for tank depth), resistance range, size of screw-in head? With the pre-1998 r129 fuel level sender NLA, and even used ones going for $400 USD, I was wondering whether there are any other senders that might easily be retrofitted into my r129. I think the head (where it screws into the tank) is the same style/size/thread across quite a few models (e.g. w126, r107, w124, w140). The w124/w140 unfortunately have a 45 degree angle, whereas the r129 is straight. But the 126 and 107 look like the same design from catalog pictures, just with a different connector. Adapting the connector should be easy, and these models seem to be available new from aftermarket (unlike r129). Thanks! -Bruce
