W126 V8 ICV replacement procedure

I have just picked up my new idle control valve for my 1989 560SEL.

Looking at the unit it looked relatively easy to replace however quickly starting the job I get as far as removing the electrical connector and undoing the clamp but it appears the two air hoses are holding everything in place.

I haven't removed the air cleaner assembly or anything else yet and I don't want to just pull on the hoses until I am sure that they won't break.

Is there any special trick to replacing this or do I just pull it off the two hoses?

Cheers
Matt.
