1998 E320 w/ only 1 Electronic KEY - Need Another
Greetings,
I just purchased a preowned E320 w/ 110K on the clock. Great Car. But the only problem is that the car only came with 1 key, the dealer wants to charge me $175 for a new electronic key. Is it possible to purchase an old key from another MBZ E320 and use it on this E320, if so, how do you reprogram it? Thanks for your help!!! |

Keys will work with only 1 car, the one that the key is programmed to originally! ALSO when ordering a key make sure NUMBER isn't the same as the one that you have OR the key that you have won't work!!

You get someone to read it with the diagnostic computer.
As long as you don't want a replacement key or the original owners haven't used up all 8 keys that were possible the dealer should get you a key that has never been issued. There was 3 or 4 original keys including wallet versions. MB should have recorded the last additional key purchased.
