2002 E430 - Disabling Brake Assist for a DIY brake job

The brakes lining wear warning lit up yesterday on my 2002 E430. I have some experience with changing brake pads on my old 1990 190E. From what I read here in the forums, it is not much different for 02 E430. My only concern is the Brake Assist. Do I need to do anything to disable it to avoid any accidents while changing brake pads (and possibly brake disks)?

Nothing special required. Brake Assist is just more "power" in the power brakes. Without the engine running to supply vacuum to the brake booster, it's all disabled anyways. Just change the pads like you would on any other car.
