group 26R battery in 124

Does anyone know if the stock battery hold-down plate in a 124 will fit an aftermarket group 26R battery? I've seen many people say a group 26R battery fits perfectly in the 124 (which uses a group 48 battery size). I would like to use the hold-down plate because there are some insane potholes/ruts around here that would cause battery to bounce around otherwise. Thanks

The OE hold down plate will secure a 26R. That's what I use in my car, which was equipped with a Gr. 48 as OE.
