Liftgate won't open on 94 E320 wagon

Hi,

The liftgate on my wagon sticks when closed. It has the self-closing latch/motor. To open again someone has to get inside to kick on the door while another person pushes in the lock button. (My wife is getting tired of crawling over the seats to get in the back) Have applied plenty of lubricant.

Does anyone have experience with this problem. Hope it doesn't need an expensive new acctuator.
