never mind, this was an old thread.... 2004

I found it on the old motor. The new motor does not have a block heater. Just a large freeze plug looking thing. Would that plug looking thing be threaded into the block?? how does it come out?? The middle looks like a male square headed thing.

Wish I'd have checked that before putting it into the car in hindsight. Assumed because the car is in Canada it already had a block heater...whoops.
It is not located behind the starter but I think the exh. manifold would need to come off and I am not going through that again. It is on the front passenger side of the block.

I wonder how big of a socket one would need to get that old block heater out of the old engine...looks big. 46mm or standard equivilent.....?

I guess I'll be cutting up another lower rad hose for a block heater.
