low speed like approaching house driveway steering noise, none when moving on road.
Changed PSF,and filter, same,no improvement. It's winter here.Belt slightly loose, can this be the cause(150 Canadian bucks) or can it be something more sinister like the steering rack(thousand of bucks)!!

The belt and tensioner could cause this.

The other cause could be the power steering pump going south.

low speed steering noise,cause?

How about checking the idler arm bushing? It will make a noise if worn. Repair kits are available for about $30.

low speed steering noise, cause

Tom, If your steering noise is when you are turning into a driveway, I would think the noise would be coming from the idler arm bushing. Let's hope so.You can get the complete repair kit from IPCO (Atlanta)for $25.Call Mike
Phone: 1-800-635-8590 You can do it yourself. No special tools needed, but you will have to get the car up off the ground. It is a rather difficult job. If we could only get some oil to the rubber bushing, you could probably get rid of the noise. Good luck.

PartsShop has EVERYTHING!!!

You need a 124 460 01 19. I believe our price is a little better than the competitor that Mr Lewallen is recommending.
