Emergency brake goes to the floor.
Last night I went to set the emergency brake and it went straight to the floor. There was no warning and it was stopping at 3 clicks the morning of the failure. I imagine it is the cable. Is it a difficult job to change the cable? Anyone have this happen?

It happened to me once, I remember buying a new cable, don't think it cost too much, but didn't put it on myself, but don't remember it taking very long. I do remember my mechanic warning me not to stomp on it in the future - just to push with steady pressure.

Can anyone give me the 2 minute drill...
On how to replace the cable? Do I need any special tools?

I believe there's actually two cables - a front and a rear - although I'm really not familiar with 107s. The rear is quite a bit easier to do than the front. Have you been under it to see what's actually broken?

I have not yet looked. It's about 10 degrees here in Chicago and I am backed up on work in the garage. I would like to get the short form from someone who knows it because I am short on the time to study the CD. I do have the manual on CD ROM. I am sure I can do it, having done everything from shocks, tie rods, A-arm bushings and ball joints, motor mounts to sub frame, diff mounts, fuel injectors to wheel bearings. I am a little fatigued and just want a heads up if I can get it.
