Cheap Mercedes Parts!...

Hey does anyone know where to get cheap Mercedes parts from? Any online sources? and also does anyone have a great hook up for used parts?

Also I live in canada, so I was wondering if anyone knows about any canadian sources also? So everyone let me know where you get the best bang for your parts bucks. Thanks

Man, I am sick of hearing of those stupid people who think that a 50,000 to 200,000 dollar car never needs maintance! Scary world we live in.

trueog 02-10-2005 08:55 PM

well its not really the consumers fault

Its not really the consumers fault. I blame mercedes and there sales people for people thinking mercedes don't need regular maintence. Mercedes till the early 90's told people there car's were engineered to be better then any other brand. They also claimed there car's required the least amount of service, even though when the service was needed it cost an arm, leg, and HEART!....But when mercedes told people there car's don't need a tune up for the first 100 000km's, that was scary enough to think people would take a risk like that on a 70 000 dollar car. As far as mercedes is concerned, poor maintence doesn't affect there bottom line at all, since all damage that will occur on a brand new car for neglecting maintence is after the warrenty period when there paying, so in the end, the consumers left with a lemon. Go to a dealership, Mercedes sales people will tell you, these car's run forever, never break down, and when they do, the maintence is cheap....and never nothing major........$15 000 dollars of my own money later, my car still needs 9000 in repairs....and my car got all the proper service on time.

I think it's illegal for wrecking yards to provide legal advice!!! Just for the record.

Parts to Canada

Hi Fastlane does not ship to Canada, they apparently have experienced negative results from CDN Customs in the past.
I get good service from:
www.***********************
and their prices seem OK as well as prompt shipping. I found buying locally here too expensive ie: I was quoted CDN$44 ea for the two "sway bar link fittings". After a week!! they phoned back because they could not supply. I was glad because I found the same fittings from http://catalog.eautopartscatalog.com/smittys
for US$8.75 ea, I recieved my order within 7 days.

The site Richard just mentioned is at:

http://www.aplusparts.com

I have found them to be 10%-20% cheaper than most if not all other WEB sellers. They are reliable and sell first rate OEM stuff. I've never had a problem with them.

Hey thanks for the hook ups...

Hey guys, thanks for all the sites. I was checking all the sites, seems like a little price fixing is happening. I checked the site http://www.aplusparts.com
out, and I am surprised that there prices are few dollars cheaper on many things. But for the American customers, you have to spend min of 75 dollars with them to get free shipping. So I guess they might be trying to keep all the lower ticket items under the 75 dollar price to avoid them having to pay for shipping.

Lastly, I'm shocked there's so many American parts companies with Online sites, yet I havn't found a Single good Canadian one. I called customs canada, and I've been told, if I order parts from the US, I will be charged duty for them if they are not manufactured in either the US or Mexico....like come on this is a mercedes, most of the parts are from europe....maybe that's why the parts are so expensive...

I'll second that vote. They ship postal to Canada and have great prices.
Just for interest, there may be a US customs broker near you that will accept packages on your behalf for a reasonable fee, then you motor over and pick it up yourself. There's an outfit in Calais ME that works really well for this (Derringer).
I'll leave it to your conscience how you get the goods home from there. It would be possible to simply mail it on from the nearest US post office too, your choice of declaration details. ;)

I live on Zero Ave.

I live in the greater Vancouver area, right near the American boarder at 0 Ave. When I look across the street, I see the US. To bad, I can't just drive my mercedes parts over without paying duty. For some reason customs never beleived me last time I told them I recieved a BMW spare wheel as a gift from a relative, since I was in need. So the moral of the story is, if you ever go to the US, strip your car down, and reload it with new parts and then drive back, and heck tell them you went to fill gas. Also lastly, I don't know if this happens to anyone else, or just me. But I think the US oil companies send the bad batch of gas to the northern cities where the canadian come to buy cheap american gas, or the gas station owners are doing something not right. I've been to the Blaine Washington and Sumas Washington area's a couple times and filled up with Premium gas, only to have my car feel gutless, and trouble starting the next few days while the gas is in my tank. When I complained to my mechanic last time, his theory was, the additives might be different in the US, and thus causing problems, and he told me to avoid US gas. However, I go to bellingham and seattle often and that gasonline has never given me problems. One of my friends has also complained about the same problem. I wonder if its just werid odd luck, or something is up.
