96 C220 Rear Defroster

I was wondering if there is a fuse for the rear defroster on the 96 C220. Mine has not been working. Unless a wire got disconnected or cut. Anyone had a similar problem?

There are 2-fuses in the circuit for the heated rear window on your car. The control circuit fuse is #8 ,7.5A and the main feed fuse is #16 , 30A maxi-fuse; both are in the main fuse box under the hood.

This happened to me before aswell. But in my case when i pressed the defrost button, the light wouldn't light on either, let alone work. It turned out that it was the relay, this relay also caughed turning signal problems sometimes aswell. So if you have turning signal problems aswell, check the relay...

Well, must be the UK/Scotland version is different. my fuse is #11 and its not blown. Just for kicks I checked the other fuses and they are all fine. Now, I'll have to check the wires and connections related to the rear defroster.... may be the switch?

Turn signals work fine but relay could be possible too... these relays are all usually the same so I might switch it around and see if it will make it work....

Some of the relays are the same under the fuse box. The one i'm talking about is distinct from the other ones, its a little black box. So you won't have another one to move and plug and play with.
