1998 W210 Check Engine “Engine Electronics”

I knew this was coming for a while now! Once in a while when I start the rig it would tell me DEFECTIVE DISPLAY. So I would shut it off and re start it and that was that. But not this time; when I re-started the rig the check engine light came on and it says ENGINE ELECTRONICS I pulled the codes and here they are.

0500 Vehicle speed signal
0600 CAN of ESP
0720 Read ETC fault memory
1605 CAN acceleration info for poor road recognition from ABS speed sensor

Any ideas? Is it a DIY or do I have to apply for credit

This may sound stupid, but make sure the battery is good before you start chasing ghosts.

? if the battery is bad will the Check Engine light come on every time I start the car? As far as I know its good! the rig starts up normal...

Low voltage at start-up can cause some strange things to happen. Checking the battery is a simple, and cheap way to avoid unneeded testing of other systems.

Today after a couple days of sitting I started the rig and the problem was gone!! But something else has come up. The sunroof, garage door opener and some other little tings have stopped working. I checked the fuse but the fuse is fine. Any ideas anyone?
