Just last week one of my headlight went out. I went to Pep Boys to get a new one, two of the associates told me I should use the new blue lights. I was told by both of them that the blue light are better for visibility than the regular lights. They said they used them in their vehicles personally. I was wondering the validity of this story and is it worth changing.

Hi:
A lot of useful information on blue headlights and Pep Boys under the search feature, above. Also, the site: http://lighting.mbz.org/tech/info/blue_bulbs/
has a great discussion on blue bulbs. If you don't want to do a search or go to the above site, the short version is:
1-Blue bulbs don't put out as much light, put out more glare and heat, don't last very long, and can possibly damage your wiring and/or reflector.
2-Pep Boys parts, policies, and information is listed by this forum membership generally as very poor. I believe the most commonly used phrase I have seen regarding PepBoys on this site is "PEP BOYS SUCKS".
Bulbs for your stock lights are cheap, Euro light replacements are expensive but put out a LOT more light. Hope this helps.

I you really shouldn't mix blue headlights and BlueBlocker shades

Sorry, couldn't resist.

As JCE noted "PEP BOYS SUCKS", but I also noticed that my local Pep Boys has started carrying some Redline products. Namely - Water Wetter, Injector Cleaner and Diesel Catalyst, but I didn't see any of their oils on the shelves.
