Service History
All
I have a quick question regarding my 97 E420. I bought this car from an independant dealer and was expecting the service history to come later. It didnt arrive. I called Mercedes Benz who told me that the car has service history from a dealer in Chicago. I tried a number of times to contact the Service dealer in chicago so that I can get the service history but they never got back to me. Does anyone know if I can get the service history for this car from another dealer?

As part of their nationwide (even out here in the middle of the Pacific) network, all MBUSA dealership service departments have access to the dealership service records, including the recall compliance of the car based on the VIN. Obviously, they will not have any records done by independents, the local "Jiffy/Fast/Qwick" place or anyone that lives under a bridge by the side of a river . . .

Last I checked, all MB dealers have access to warranty service records only, not non-warranty service. Non-warranty records were only available at the servicing dealer. The records are only supposed to be available to the owner of the car at the time. But I have always been able to get the records from someone in the service department.
