SRS light flickering
Yeah so lately my SRS light has been flickering on and off after the usual intial car test....
Flickers more in idle and in park than in any other condition.... Mostly the SRS light is off than on. SRS light will illuminate anywhere from 1 second to 10 seconds then turn off again.... Car seems to be behaving fine....

Another possibility is worm volt. reg. brushes. When mine were too far gone, the SRS light came on. If that's not it, consider previous comment(s).

Mercedes airbag life=15 years.
Your car: 1989 Current year: 2005 ~15 years, yes? That is why the SRS light is coming on. Dealer must inspect / replace bags. Or you can remove light bulb.

yeah I saw the dreadful SRS replacement sticker.... I was supposed to do it on 6/1999!!!!!
Voltage regulator has been ordered, I need to change it anyway!
