Hi.
Whats with Euro Lights. Are they brighter? Will they fit on my 95 280C? Also, my car does not have the wipers. Can I get them installed with little trouble or $$?

Thanks

David:

Once upon a time there were "American" sealed beam headlamps (visit a museum) and "European" seperate bulb and reflector headlamps. Modern cars all benefit from halogen bulb technology but retro-fitting euro lamps in place of older sealed beams is a popular modification...and one you can sell to your wife as being for safety reasons!

Reto-fitting wipers has been discussed in previous posts. Try a search under "headlights".

The difference between Euro headlights and normal ones, is the European headlights have a better reflector and beam pattern than american headlights.

In 1994 Mercedes US Headlights became much more similar to the European Code for headlights as US DOT Laws for headlights changed to suit the better visibility of European headlights.

On your car, a 95 280C, it should already have good updated style headlights.

The lights people mostly change to European Code Lights are 124, 126, 123, and other chassis. The Newer style cars have much better lights.

As anyone with a 124 knows, the American Headlights just plain suck.
